The Host (2006) - This South Korean monster movie about struggling family members to rescue their daughter from a vast mutated monster that has taken over the Han River is a thrilling as well as (blog post) emotional movie. Direction by Bong Joon-ho is masterful, and the actors in those in the film, particularly Song Kang Ho, are fantastic. The movie is hilarious but also heart-wrenching.
